Taxis and public transit provide easy transportation around NYC. You can hail a yellow taxi on the street 24/7. The subway also runs 24/7 and you can purchase tickets in most Metro stations. Google Maps and HopStop both provide helpful directions via public transportation.
There are also a variety of car services such as Uber, that offer on demand service.

Below, you'll find some of our favorites, but if you'd like a full list of things to see and do while in NYC, you can find an interactive map of recommendations here.
Maybe our most favorite part of living on the Upper West Side is the proximity to both Riverside Park and Central Park. We spend so much of our free time in one or the other.
Riverside offers beautiful expansive and elevated promenades starting around 100th Street and stretching north. We enjoy walking Shelby and taking in the sunset along the Hudson River Greenway near our house where we can be right on the water.
Central Park is where we typically go for runs and to meet up with friends. The "loop" in Central Park is a beautiful 6.1 mile route that's so fun to run because it's packed with other runners and cyclists! Sheep Meadow and the Great Lawn are huge open spaces in Central Park where you can feel a bit like you've escaped the city. A great place for picnics, bocce ball, or people watching.
